THE AHA HEARTCODE® ACLS COURSE IS DONE IN A BLENDED LEARNING FORMAT AND CAN BE COMPLETED BY INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE A CURRENT OR EXPIRED ACLS CERTIFICATION, OR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEVER TAKEN ACLS PREVIOUSLY.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The AHA’s ACLS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC and the 2019 Update to the 2018 ASA Ischemic Stroke Guidelines. The ACLS Course teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, continuous, high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
COURSE LENGTH
- Heartcode®ACLS Online: Self-paced
- Skills Session: Approximately 2 hours
(Note: Class time can be extended to ensure all material is covered following the AHA Guidelines.

- ECG & Pharmacology familiarity
IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION
- PAYMENT: Prepayment is required and non-refundable, but you can reschedule for another prescheduled group class. Please note the following in regards to rescheduling.
- Class dates can be rescheduled at no cost if requested by email no later than noon (12 p.m.) the business day before the originally scheduled course. This can be done only once, and the rescheduling fee will apply to any additional rescheduling requests.
- The rescheduled class date must be within six (6) months of the initially scheduled course. Failure to complete the course within the given time will result in the student forfeiting their registration payment. Full course payment will be required if the student wishes to reschedule.
- Rescheduling Fee: 50% of the course fee
- COURSE COMPLETION: Payment for the course does not guarantee certification. Any participant who does not attend the entire course or pass any required skills/written testing will be required to retake the course at full cost.
- LATE ARRIVALS: Students more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted to the scheduled class, and the rescheduling fee listed above will apply if they would like to reschedule.
- NO CALL / NO SHOW: Students who cannot make their scheduled class and do not contact Healthline within one week of the originally scheduled course will be considered NO CALL NO SHOW. Students who would like to reschedule will be required to pay the full course fee.

Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Below are the optional add-ons for this course. For students who are not familiar or comfortable with ECG interpretation or Pharmacology, we strongly recommend the ECG eLearning course and/or the Pharmacology eLearning Course.
In addition to the add-ons listed below, the American Heart Association has released supplemental eLearning modules for healthcare providers seeking advanced educational content. These modules are online (no instructor led skills required), may be used for CE credits, and can be found HERE (ALS eLearning Modules).
***HeartCode® ACLS Online***
IMPORTANT - The HeartCode® ACLS Online (part 1) must be completed prior to attending the hands-on skills session. When registering, students who have already completed part 1 and do not need to purchase the HeartCode® ACLS Online add-on should unselect the HeartCode® ACLS Online add-on before completing their purchase.
The certificate of completion for part 1 should be brought to the skills session.
2020 AHA ACLS Prep: ECG eLearning Course - (RECOMMENDED)
The American Heart Association’s ACLS Prep: ECG Course is a self-directed eLearning course designed for students preparing to take an AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course. This course is also ideal for healthcare professionals who require basic rhythm recognition skills related to the ACLS algorithms.
