AHA Heartsaver Instructor Course

THE HEARTSAVER INSTRUCTOR COURSE IS FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN TEACHING FIRST AID CPR AED (NON-HEALTHCARE PROVIDER COURSES).

COURSE OBJECTIVES: 

Prepares instructor candidates to teach all AHA Heartsaver Courses including First Aid CPR AED, Pediatric First Aid CPR AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, & Friends & Family courses. It does not allow instructors to teach healthcare provider courses).

COURSE LENGTH:  

Five hours, with a course presentation, practical application, written test, and skills test. Following the completion of the initial instructor course, instructor candidates must separately schedule a:

• Observation Session to observe/shadow a Heartsaver course being taught by a Healthline Faculty Instructor
• Monitor Session to prove competency with presentation skills and group leadership skills.

PREREQUISITE: 

• Current AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification - If you do not have a current certification, please choose Heartsaver Total Online & Skills Session add-on when registering. You are required to complete the optional Child and Infant CPR modules.
• Candidates must aligned with a training center after course requirements have been met. Healthline will work with the instructor for alignment into the Healthline Training Center

Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

The Heartsaver Instructor Manual and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Student Manual are the required to be present in the Heartsaver Instructor course in either physical form or eBook format. The Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online must be completed prior to attending the Instructor Course.
