THE ACLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE IS FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN TEACHING ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Prepares instructor candidates to teach AHA ACLS Provider and ACLS Update (Renewal) courses
COURSE LENGTH:
- 10 hours approximately, with a DVD presentation, practical application, written test, and skills test. (Note: Class time can be extended to ensure all material is covered following the AHA Guidelines.)
- Following the completion of the initial instructor course, instructor candidates must separately schedule the following:
- Class observation (shadow) to observe a ACLS Provider or ACLS Update course being taught by a Healthline Faculty Instructor
- Instructor monitoring to prove competency with presentation, skills, and group leadership skills.
PREREQUISITE:
- Current ACLS Provider certification
**NOTE: If you do not have a current ACLS Provider certification, please select HeartCode® ACLS & Skills Session under Course Add-Ons.**
IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION
- Instructor and Student manuals are required to be present at the course. Those who do not bring their manuals to class will be required to purchase new manuals or request to be scheduled into another instructor course.
- The ACLS Instructor Essentials Online must be completed prior to attending the classroom instruction.
- PAYMENT: Prepayment is required and is NON-REFUNDABLE, however, you can transfered to another prescheduled course, if needed.
- You are allotted six (6) months from payment date to complete the ACLS Instructor (Classroom) portion of the course. Individuals who do NOT complete the classroom portion within that timeframe are required to register to attend a new instructor course.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
