THE HEARTSAVER INSTRUCTOR COURSE IS FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN TEACHING FIRST AID CPR AED (NOT HEALTHCARE PROVIDER COURSES).

COURSE OBJECTIVES:  Prepares instructors to teach all AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED & Bloodborne Pathogens courses (does not allow instructors to teach healthcare provider courses).

COURSE LENGTH:  Six hours, with a DVD presentation, practical application, written test, and skills test.  Following the completion of the initial instructor course, instructor candidates must separately schedule a:

• Class observation to observe a Hearsaver course being taught by a Healthline faculty instructor
• Class monitoring to prove competency with presentation skills and group leadership skills.

PREREQUISITE: 

• Current Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification - If you do not have a current Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification, please choose 2020 AHA Heartsaver Total - First Aid CPR AED Online & Skills Session add-on when registering. You are required to complete the optional Child and Infant CPR modules.
• Candidates must also be aligned with a training center.  Healthline will contact you following registration to complete the alignment paperwork.

**The Heartsaver Instructor Manual and the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Student Manual are the required manuals for the Heartsaver Instructor course; the Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online must be completed prior to attending the Instructor Candidate Course.  If you wa Healthline to provide you with the manuals and the online key, please choose them as an add-on when registering.
